Hollywood Haven Puerto Vallarta Jan 24, 2016

Hollywood Glitterate has long been attracted to this town of Puerto Vallarta situated on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. It has not only manicured beaches but stunning backdrop of Siera Madre mountains added by breathtaking view of Banderas.

Hollywood stars made Puerto Vallarta their home-away-home in the 1960s. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor who starred here in John Huston's film, 'The Night Of The Iguana'. This film brought this small coastal town on the world stage.

Getting out of the ship for an outing on the streets of Puerto Vallarta.

As we were walking past a street and asked a person who could converse in English. He strongly recommended to go to Downtown by a public transport which will take us there in 20 minutes. As we talked, a bus came and the driver welcomed us to get into the bus. The driver confirmed that this bus would take us to Downtown where all the activities of the town revolve. It cost us US $ 1 for both of us mingling with local people on a public transport. It was a nice short drive with no crowding but was not air conditioned for a change. We found very friendly commuters going for their chores. Driver was extra careful to drop us at the appropriate stop which was center of activities for tourists indeed. We felt we were among our comrades not strangers.

A great day to start with.

A selfie in the bus shows how happy we are.

Harvinder absolutely relaxed.

Opal mines store and its jewlerry at Plaza Genovesa. Harvinder at the outset got fascinated by greenish blue Opal ear rings but the price tag was too high for her.

The coastal city of Puerto Vallarta is renowned for the seefood.

Tourists can still see parts of the set used during filming of 'The Night Of The Iguana'.
