My Perspective As I Turn 76

I got up quiet early in the morning and went on to see the Darbar Sahib on TV. ‘Darshan Deeje Khol Kivaar’ was on display. Baba Ji Swaroop was being brought down the steps of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. There was huge crowd in Covid times.

What a start of the day on my 76th BD.

Here is below the morning time ‘Mukh Vaak’ Order of the Day from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar:

Some of the visuals as picked up over the TV today early morning:

As prevalent else where, ladies in our neighborhood have also been doing monthly 'Sukhmani Sahib Path' virtually with the help of modern technology like 'Zoom'. In the last such group Path, Harvinder made a special request to do the "PATH' on the day of my Birth in this month. The request was acceded and the Path started dot on time. She also requested that there should not be any mention of the Birth Day in Public while doing 'Ardaas'

Our Baba Ji room was cleaned up with a fresh change of Baba Ji Rumala Sahib.

A day before the schedule virtual Saukhnani Sahib through Zoom, some of the members made a special request for Shivpreet Singh to sing a Shabad. Shivpreet in turn decided to initiate the Kirtan with favorite ‘Balhari’ Shabad by Geet. For the final Shabad, Shiv also requested me to join for a very old Shabad ‘Sajjan Suhele’. So we completed the Zoom programme. Shiv had also requested Mom and Shilpy to help shoot a video of the Shabad singing with some still shots. The one shot by Shilpy at a ceiling level came out outstanding. Shilpy had to make acrobatic efforts in order to have this shot as if by a robot drone.

After distributing ‘Karhah Parsad’, the ladies  of the house got quickly into setting up for lunch.’

It was a grand lunch with my favorite 'Alu Mattar Paneer', Alu-Moongre-Wadhian, Curd, Salad and fresh & hot Chappatis by Rotimatic. The lunch was cooked perfectly by Harvinder as usual and served in style. We all ate sumptuously.

Then came a break for rest a while with a cup of tea,

In mean time Jania was determined to cook home made desert. Lately she has learnt to cook excellent bakery items like cookies, banana bread and various types of cakes. Thanks Covid times!

After consulting with her Mom, she decided to make ‘Churros’. She is in the habit of cooking fresh from the scratch. So she took flour and after adding butter, water, green apple meshing and blending them together and thus made a perfect Dow. The churro formations were done, fried and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar to present a final product on a paper towel.

I was asked to taste the sample. It was so yummy, crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside just melting into my mouth with a flavor any body can resist.  It was unlike hard one I get usually in the market. Well done Jania! Her hand movements/gestures while cooking reminds similarity to her Dadi.

Shilpy finalized the Dinner Plans with all and decided to have an Italian dinner. Our favorite Italian 'Pieology Pizzeria' was chosen for the same.

Here is the dinner from Pieology:

After dinner, it was time to cut the cake.

Our dog Simba can not be left behind without tasting the prime item. And the kids are all excited

Overjoyed to eat the whole cake myself, as my family gives me lot of space.

Shilpy favorite shot is to pick the best Bakery in town to get the most important cake. She picked up 'Parris Baguette' for this beautifully and colorfully decorated cake for the family to enjoy.

The Duo enjoying the singing.

As a special gesture and thanks for Kirtan, Our friends Gurpreet and her husband S. Mohinder S Gill came all the way to present flowers next day morning.

I feel humbled by the overwhelming greeting responses from close family and friends from far and near. Thanks to the modern tools and internet available. I pray to the Waheguru Ji for thankfulness for all the goodies bestowed by Him on an ineffectual creature like me and further pray to keep all friends and friendly contented in life.
