As Dari and me were walking past the Jewelry section of the Costco, the lady in charge of the Section was very friendly. In a matter of general courtesy, we just talked about the recent burglary on the section, we advised her to be more careful and do not worry as the security of the store has been strengthened by the Store by posting an armed guard at the front gate.
We exchanged some pleasantries and by now we had known that her name was Loretta and was from Danville, CA. She had three sons and all married. She was feeling sad that she had no daughter and was little scared who will take care of her in old age. We just tried to console her that we are also having one son but we have been living together nicely along with grand kids.
At this, she narrated a famous Jewish saying as it looked she was a Jewish women. She said the following words of wisdom:
"A son is a son till he takes a wife,
A daughter remains a daughter through out her life"
Sayings in every culture are the same as proved above.
