Shivpreet has been performing voluntary Sewa of Bio-lingual Kirtan regularly for last two years in both Gurdwaras on 4th Sunday of every month at Hayward Gurdwara Sahib at 11.30 AM and at San Jose Gurdwara Sahib at 2.30 pm. His Kirtan can be listened at Sikh Net Radio through globally at Pacific Standard Time.
The other day Secretary Rajinder Singh Ji of San Jose Gurdwara Sahib mentioned that Shivpreet is First Hazuri Ragi Jatha of the Gurdwara Sahib. In late eighties when the Gurdwara strated functioning in a smaller place, there was acute shortage of Raagis. A phone call from the Gurdwara Sahib would be made to his grandfather Mr Mohan Narain Singh Kapoor to bring him for performing Kirtan after his school home work to substitute for a Raagi so that the Gurdwara program continues without hinderance.
Shivpreet continued his service of Kirtan in El Sebrante Gurdwara Sahib even when he went to University Of California at Berkeley for his studies in Molecular Cell Biology and Western Classical Music. He was also a regular performer in the Gurdwara Sahib in Chicago when he went for Booth School of Business.
Shivpreet has been working on Kirtan during his weekends after high tension Job in Wall Street where he was also excelling in Banking Job when he successfully entered Forbe’s list at number three slot in the World. He often says that after his hard banking Job, Kirtan gives him solace and tranquility.
On a request from a Doctor couple, he agreed to perform ‘Anand Karaj’ for their daughter in Moraga, Ca. The young, educated and professionals all over the world are desperate to listen to his discourses and classical Raag based Kirtans which are delivered in a straight forward language with modern day spiritual theme strictly on the principles of Sikhism.
Shivpreet continues to excell both in his professional job and spiritual path.
