Guru Nanak

I am heavily influenced and inspired by the teachings of Baba Nanak. I don’t view Baba Nanak as a magical being with superpowers (but I get how that makes for fantastic PR), rather, I see him as an amazing philosopher, artist and leader that worked very hard to free the people around him from mental, physical, political, and spiritual oppression. India in the 1500s wasn’t very open to ideas of equity and equality, between genders, religions, or even different human beings. Baba Nanak spoke out against this injustice, and that landed him in hot water with those in charge. He even spent time in jail because of it. Still, those thoughts started a movement that mobilized and evolved over the next few centuries. Eastern Philosophy is becoming super cool out here in the west; meditation, yoga, and thinking cyclically. It’s convenient to package Sikhi (pronounced Sick-hee) into something easy to absorb for western idealism: call it SikhISM, label it a religion with Do’s & Don'ts, and think the most important elements are symbolic and ritualistic. When the average person thinks Sikh, they think Turban and beard, and other “articles of faith”, but really Sikh philosophy is a beautiful journey inwards that encourages us to have a healthy relationship with the truth, and see how our Ego, Attachment, Greed, Anger, and Lust play a part in disrupting our own peace. Sikhi is based on love, and not fear, and it doesn’t require us to fear and obey a god in the sky, it asks us to realize we are all part of the same ocean of infinity, a code in the matrix, and pieces of a puzzle. Sikh means student, and I’m grateful to be a part of a heritage that promotes learning above all else. Baba Nanak is most commonly referred to as Guru Nanak, Gu = Dark, Ru = Light, let’s celebrate his birthday today by continuing our own journey towards leaving our darkness to find our light.

You are a born genious and are under the process of being trained from worlds top academicians.  You are on way to be booming in very near future. Keep pursuing the following principles:

*Higher education for worldly progress.
*Meditation for Soul and Peace.
*Gym with light exercises for physical health.
*Healthy and Timely Food.

If you supervene above without deviation, I am more than sure, your genious in you will get glittered and make you immensely Triumphant with name and fame along with your associates. While deviation may stall/delay your goal. It’s here that you have to be careful and smart. You are undertaking a game which has a risk(even though 1%) of injury to your limbs and can bar you temporarily though from your goals. I donot want a slightest of risk in your progress of education. Adopt a game which can supplement your goal.

You are fortunate to be leading light to your siblings who are virtually following you.

You are more educated than me as per worldly standards, but being an elderly and having seen/experienced more days of light, I am offering My two cents!
I love you and will continue to do so till my last breath.

Your loving
Dada Ji

Geet Ear Ring - Lost and Found

As Geet came back from her school, Gama welcomed her back home. Observing her Diamond ear ring missing, Gama asked her why one of the ear rings was missing from her ear?
Geet spontaneously responded that while she was playing with her friends near the swings, she felt the ear ring was loose as she played the game ‘Simon Says’(details below), and she was sure she had dropped the ear ring there only.
Gama immediately made a trip along with me and Geet to the Love Oak Elementary School and after taking permission from the School administration reached the Black top where the Play Swings are located.
To our Good luck Gama spotted a tiny glittering ring the ground just near to the Swings.
Hats off to agile and alert Geet who was sure to have dropped her ear ring on that part of the huge play ground where assembly of all classes numbering about 1000 students for whole school takes place.

Simon Says is a children's game for three or more players. One player takes the role of "Simon" and issues instructions (usually physical actions such as "jump in the air" or "stick out your tongue") to the other players, which should be followed only when prefaced with the phrase "Simon says". Players are eliminated from the game by either following instructions that are not immediately preceded by the phrase, or by failing to follow an instruction which does include the phrase "Simon says". It is the ability to distinguish between genuine and fake commands, rather than physical ability, that usually matters in the game; in most cases, the action just needs to be attempted.

The object for the player acting as Simon is to get all the other players out as quickly as possible; the winner of the game is usually the last player who has successfully followed all of the given commands. Occasionally, however, two or more of the last players may all be eliminated at the same time, thus resulting in Simon winning the game.

Tomorrow Island and Yesterday Island

Tomorrow Island (Big Diomede) and Yesterday Island (Little Diomede).

The Diomede islands are just three miles apart but the bigger island is almost one day ahead of its smaller neighbour (21 hours) because they sit on either side of the International Date Line which passes through the Pacific Ocean and marks the boundary between one calendar day and the next. They sit in the Bering Strait between mainland Alaska and Siberia

Big Diomede is located on the Russian side while Little Diomede is on the US side. The ice bridge that forms between the two islands in winter makes it possible, although illegal, to walk the short distance between them and 'travel through time'.

Gossip - No Good

Here's why you should not GOSSIP.

In Ancient Greece, Socrates had a great reputation of wisdom. One day, someone came to find the great philosopher and said to him:
- Do you know what I just heard about your friend?
- A moment, replied Socrates. Before you tell me, I would like to test you the three sieves.
- The three sieves?
- Yes, continued Socrates. Before telling anything about the others, it's good to take the time to filter what you mean. I call it the test of the three sieves. The first sieve is the TRUTH. Have you checked if what you're going to tell me is true?
- No, I just heard it.
- Very good! So, you don't know if it's true. We continue with the second sieve, that of KINDNESS. What you want to tell me about my friend, is it good?
- Oh, no! On the contrary.
- So, questioned Socrates, you want to tell me bad things about him and you're not even sure they're true? Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve, that of UTILITY. Is it useful that I know what you're going to tell me about this friend?
- No, really.
- So, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor useful. Why, then, did you want to tell me this?
"Gossip is a bad thing. In the beginning it may seem enjoyable and fun, but in the end, it fills our hearts with bitterness and poisons us, too!"
- Pope Francis

Yes I am handsome, But…

My dearest sister Tipi comments on my photo “Handsome Kaka Ji”

As my dearest sister comments on my photo above, I respond with the facts!

Artificially handsome, I say! My eyes have specs, my ears need an aid, my mouth boasts crowned teeth, and now my nose has a clip.

But here’s the best part—my wife just came back, triumphant, after confirming my snoring levels.

Life is beautiful!
