On the eve of Shilpy's birthday, Shiv decided to do musical sitting involving performances by Gobind, Jania and their friends.
He invited serious Proffessionals like Janapriya, Suellin, Jermy to join the party. He also invited Jenny the regular music teacher who has been training Gobind and Jania on Piano for the last three years. This was a sort of another practice concert for their ensuing Piano Exams.
The lights were switched off when an hour long amalgamation of various instruments including Cello, Harmonium, Sexophone, Tabla, Indian Flute was initiated. Shiv was outstanding on flute with scinilating performance reminding us of old UC Berkeley days where he used to perform for Asha Programs every year during his undergraduate studies.
It must be mentioned here to the greatest credit of listeners including the kids that the whole gatherence enjoyed the performance in a pin drop atmosphere for an hour and more. There was unending applause rarely experienced in house concerts.
After the intermission and coffee break, a singing session started with Gazals and folk songs by Shiv and Tripti. The singing performance equally enthralled the august gatherence. Shiv sang awesome on Jagjit Singh numbers while Tripti came out with thrilling Rajasthani folk songs followed by Bollywood numbers.
Yours truly also gave his singing performance of a Kishore Kumar song which was taken very well by friends and guests.
Thanks very much to all the guests who made it possible for this gala evening. This whole event would not have been possible without the efforts of Harvinder and Shilpy who worked so hard for arranging and serving snacks and immaculate dinner. Gobind, Jania and their friends helped a lot in making decorating arrangements for the event.
Little Geet was in her best elements fully enjoying the presence of many known faces.
