This palace located in a remote village in Kodagu served as a hide-out for the King. I understand that he used to move in here to escape from the English. A secluded palace with all the facilities, it also has nice paintings though time has worn out them.
The place is in poor state, but the guide is knowledgeable who take pains to explain the relevance of the palace to Kodagu History. the secret chambers and 200 yr old paintings are really nice, but in real bad shape. It was a retreat place for the king but nothing else to see in the palace.
A near by village School
Caretaker was knowledgeable
Laquer polish survives
200 years old painting
Beautiful Roof paintings
