A couple of decades ago, I used to sit with him on the stage just to encourage him, Shiv invited me today to join him.
The San Jose Gurdwara Secretary S Rajinder Singh ji rightly introduced him as the First Hazuri Raagi Jatha of this Great Gurdwara Sahib. When the Gurdwara started, in the absence of Gurdwara Ragi Jatha, a call was made to his Nana Ji S Mohan Narain Singh Kapoor to get Shiv from the School for Kirtan Sewa. Ever Since, Shiv has been doing this volunteer Service with pleasure, respect and utmost devotion.
To answer a friends question, the donations thus received have invariably been forwarded to the kitty of the Gurdwara he performs at.
