On Sandeep Birthday

Sunny was born on a Wednesday in the same twin rooms where Tipi was born at house #391, ward 12, Kalandar Chowk Panipat. The excitement present was different than when Raju was born as we were too exuberant on his birth; being the first kid in the next generation.  Papa ji promptly went to City office on Killa ground and registered the birth of new baby. By then, no formal name was given to him and hence being born on 'Budh War' was recorded as Budh Singh. When Jija ji came to Panipat, we all went to Shah Sahib Gurdwara in Ward 9 for his naming ceremony where he was formally installed as Sandeep Singh. Jija ji also came to know that the baby was named as Budh Singh and registered in the city Municipality. He was furious. While all others were having jolly happy time.

Jija ji took extra unscheduled one day leave on the following Monday from his office and made it sure the name was changed to Sandeep Singh in the Municipal records.

In mean time, I reached Panipat on my routine week end trip on following Saturday evening. I found Biji bursting into heartiest of laughs and disclosed me that a big boy was born to us (communication was rare as I came to know about the birth of the baby on 3rd day) But he was every now and then spoiling the napkins and we were fallen short of them. At the same time he was drinking too much milk after quick intervals. First the midwife, who had helped deliver the baby, was asked to examine the baby. She concluded the baby was fine and normal. Not satisfied a qualified doctor was called in and he also endorsed that the child was absolutely healthy. Doctor further asked us to keep on feeding him as much as he wants. Bhagwant still insists that due to bacterial infection of the synthetic nipple or the bottle made her son sick.

Unlike others in the family he was a big boy born first time seen by my Mom who was up complaining new baby's too much intake. So Sunny rose to be a big boy capable of doing hard work sacrificing his white colored doctor's job and pursuing a hard construction career.

We wish him a very happy and blessed Birthday!

P.S. Sandeep analyses his condition now and tells us that he had a lactose intolerance which was unknown entity those days. and adds further that the poor Doctor and poor Sandeep had to bear lactose induced diarrhea.
