Gobind Features in A Drama in Windermere Middle School

Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance. The term comes from a Greek word meaning "action", which is derived from "I do".

The enactment of drama in theatre, performed by actors on a stage before an audience, presupposes collaborative modes of production and a collective form of reception. The structure of dramatic texts, unlike other forms of literature, is directly influenced by this collaborative production and collective reception.

To learn this and other form of performing Arts, Gobind had opted for a class in learning Drama. The teacher Sue Warner had trained a talented bunch of kids to stage and enact  'Haphazardly Ever After' a drama by Jeff Fluharty. Jeff is an award-winning children’s book author and the creator of Roaring Jaguar TV, a podcast news show featuring elementary school students

The story  of 'Haphazardly Ever After'  goes like this:

A kind and queen have trouble in their royal family — four obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal titles. Tons of magical fun was enjoyed in this original, one-of-a-kind fractured fairy tale farce!

There’s this mean Princess Cinnamon, the not-so-bright Princess Peppermint, the vain Prince Hairgel and Prince Slacker, who thinks being a prince is just way, way too hard.  The king and queen try everything to bring happiness and harmony to their family.  They hire a royal therapist, bring in royal teachers and even attempt to marry off their children, all to no avail.

The king and queen are ready for a happily-ever-after that doesn’t include adult children still living at home, so they call upon the fairy godmother to help.  However, after learning the outrageous cost of hiring the fairy godmother (let alone the permits required), the king and queen decide to create a do-it-yourself fairy tale with the help of supplies purchased at 'The Enchanted Depot'.  Royal chaos!  Of course, nothing goes as planned, but everyone is changed by their experiences.

And through a series of haphazard events, the royal family just live happily ever after, after all.

Gobind plays very well the role of a Sorcerer-a person who claims or is believed to have magic powers; a wizard. His dialogue delivery with loud and authenticated voice impresses the audience. The whole house erupts into laughter after he executes a perfect joke in his role ending sentence.

Gobind Kapoor also worked as one of the Stage Managers behind the stage.. His efforts, to sit late and rehearse after the school hours, has been fruitful. His drama was enjoyed by Shiv, Shilpy and his sibling on first day, Harvinder and Me enjoyed it on second day.

Gobind is somewhat not happy with his photos being posted on the net. He felt that he did a big mistake to have joined dramatic class thus waisting his precious time and vowed never to do this dramatic activities in future as long as he has a tremendous pressure of studies. My argument, that he has a chance to learn correct gestures to behave as per the conditions like sad or happy in life, had no effect on him. He reiterated that he knew already how to cry or laugh depending upon the circumstances and he can fake them easily. That was precisely the reason of his being chosen for a role in the Drama.
