Drought in California

The dawn of Super Bowl Sunday brought rain to most of the Bay Area. But the National Weather Service quickly reiterated that it would take many more days of the same to put an end to the drought that has enveloped California.

The California state remains bone dry. A year after the driest year in recorded state history back to 1850, the lack of rainfall in January has set a state record.

"At this point, it would take a storm of Biblical proportions to get us back immediately to where we need to be,"

Before the rain started, Dwayne Florenzie captured this shot of a rainbow.
