My Cinderellas!

Geet

Jania

After her first day in School, Geet became naughty overnight. She is scheduled to go to Acorn School every other day. Today was an off day and It was a tough day for us to handle her. Perhaps it was also the effect of 'Terrible Twos'.

Geet as usual busy with Videos

Shilpy was working from home today. She was having hard needed relaxation owing to her fit of migraine. She was resting in closed doors. Time and again, Geet will enter and exit her room just like any two-three years old will do. This naturally irritated her Mom who shouted at her to keep quite and play with her toys under the guidance of her maid Juhana. Geet would not listen and even refused to go to her favorite 'Gama'.

Being so mischievous herself today, Geet comes to me complaining that her Mom was getting mad at her. She then starts tangling the ropes of hanging blinds in my room, I asked her not to damage her house and stop all this. She listened though and left to attack another target. She then goes to her Mom room again.

I was told She had gone to Shilpy to tell her that She was a Cinderella today while Shilpy was a Step-mother of hers. This almost shocked us and further made us laugh again and again. I could visualize that she had listened and learned the story of Cinderella again and again on TV and iPhones innumerable times. And She understood it too well and was applying the same on herself in her own way without knowing the implications.

The story of Cinderella, perhaps the best-known fairy tale, is told or read to children of very young ages. Most renderings of the story include an evil stepmother and stepsister(s), an ineffective father, some sort of gathering such as a ball or festival, mutual attraction with a person of high status, a lost article, and a search that ends with success. The title character in Cinderella is a young woman living in unfortunate circumstances, that are suddenly changed to remarkable fortune. This story has influenced many down the ages and around the globe. So was my doll little Geet without understanding the full meanings.

I wish and pray like Cinderella story, their own fairy tales of both Jania and Geet should also end with an exceptional destiny. I also wish both do not develop a wishing-only kind of persons. They rather become a self-reliant, devoted to family and ancestors, and willing to make their own future.
