It has been an honor and privilege for me to take over the responsibility of initiating tying of turbans on Brij, Harsh and now Aanik the illustrated sons of eminent Surgeon Dr Tej Mohan Singh and reputed Psychiatrist Dr Simran Singh.
As was the direction set forth by (late) S. Harbans Singh Veer ji and Indira Bhen ji - the grandparents, Humbled though, I am extremely glad to join the felicitations and guide Aanik to tie first time the turban called 'Dastar Bandhi' ceremony. It is a proud moment to see young men of our community following the strict tenets of Sikhism. These principals and doctrine of our modern religion are being followed more and more by right thinking humans.
It was extremely nice ceremony to start with reciting of Sukhmani Sahib Path followed by melodious Kirtan by Ragis. After the request through 'Ardaas' for allowing 'Dastar Bandhi', a Hukamnama was addressed by reading a random hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The tying of the turban was initiated with the help of Dad Dr Tej Mohan Singh and oldest brother Brij Mohan.
