Japanese Sushi and Grill

YANAGI restaurants are known and recognized for their variety served with innumerable dishes. There was a more than an hour delay for our party of ten to get a turn. We decided to debate to change the venue. Our neighbor's daughter Neha was adamant to have Sushi here though. So we acceded to have her way after all Neha along with her sister Rishika and Gobind Jania had, earlier in the  afternoon, given sterling individual performances on Piano in a Senior home in Pleasanton Ca. This restaurant is supposed to provide great taste and experience in a unique atmosphere.

The Teppan chef Ian serving on our table was originally from Indonesia. Teppanyaki  is a style of Japanese Cousine  that uses an iron griddle to cook food. Besides he knew numerous Bollywood songs and almost surprised us with most popular numbers on Shah Rukh Khan movies. As he started singing and dancing while working on the hot plate, the kids along with the elders burst into loud laughter distracting other customers.

Being vegetarian, it was initially difficult to give an order which did not contain any meat, chicken, fish or egg. Once the order was firmed, the chef will dutifully check it from us while adding any new ingredient in our dishes.

As he cooked fried rice, he was continuously singing and dancing. He made a tower of onion rings and filled it with oil and lit a flame of fire making a sudden flash of fire gush into the air. The sudden fire near to us sitting around the hot plate made us scare mixing with loud laughter from kids and elders

It was a unique dining experience like never before, with great taste and environment, combined with a touch of class and entertainment. Our own Bollywood songs made all the difference and further enhanced the fun among kids and elders together.

Waiting for dinner out side the restaurant

The kids are playing to cover the wait which was for full one hour.

Kids keeping themselves busy, while Geet was on the lap.

Here is the Chef Ian with Tofu slabs in his hands.

One day Chef Ian went to enjoy the Show of his favorite Star Shah Rukh Khan. The line at the entrance was so big and serpentine that he had to return without seeing the show.

Chef Ian, the centre of attraction was hilarious all the times.

A toy which pees water to extinguish the fire on the hot plate. This made all burst into laughter while the kids joy knew no bound.

We are stunned to see Chef Ian perform while cooking

Geet is also seen anxious.

Rice is being fried with different sauces

He is adding more onions as desired by us.

Some butter is being added

Here he brings fresh vegetables for grilling

A onion tower is filled with oil and put to flame to the entertainment of of us all

We request for a pic from the waitress.

The lady waiting on our table snaps a good picture of most of us.

It was wonderful experience to have dinner in a unique way and that too so near to your home.
