Bhai Nand Lal, also known as Nand Lal Goya, was a prominent poet and scholar in the court of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. He was born in 1633 in Ghazni, which is now in present-day Afghanistan. Bhai Nand Lal was a learned man proficient in several languages including Persian, Arabic, and Punjabi. He eventually became a dedicated disciple of Guru Gobind Singh and his Persian and Punjabi works are highly revered in Sikh literature.
