Annual District Wide String Festival-2014

Gobind setting up the Cello

Gobind participated in the live performance of Annual District Wide String Festival held in the Gymnasium Pavillion of Dougherty Valley High School, San Ramon on Monday May 19, 2014.

Gobind led the two participants team of Cello players from Live Oak Elementary School. Dressed in white shirt and black pants, I dropped him along with his Half Cello in the back rooms to join his team for setting up his instrument.

In the main Pavilion, on one side in the South was packed with Elementary School Student participants and on the other in the North with High School filled with 40-50% of the space. The middle area was occupied by 6th graders on West side and 7-8th graders on East.

I am flanked by Harvinder and Jania on either side.

The live performance started with melodious synchronous playing of Voilens. Cellos and other String instruments by about 50 Elememtary School participants. The following songs by Combined Elementary Orchestra under the superb guidance of Bob Gaje of Live Oak Elementary and Jenifer Bertolero of Cyote Creek Elementary were played:

Frog in a Tree.................... Siennicki
Celtic Dance...................... Williams
Firework............................ arr, Longfield

Well done Gobind! as echos of Strings reverberated to pump air into my chest which got swelled with pride.

I am sure Shiv, who is presently traveling to New York on his official business, would have been more than thrilled to see his son performing in such a marvelous show.
