Goa, Jan 2011

We hired a taxi from Dabolim Airport to proceed to Royal Resorts Haathi Mahal in South Goa at a distance of about 20 miles. It took us about 45 minutes to travel through a narrow road to reach Royal Resorts.

Royal Resorts Haathi Mahal is a child friendly, offering interconnecting rooms as well as one and two bedroom villas. The resort features a host of activities and facilities including the Waterslide, Play Area, Trunky's Kids Club with games and competitions held on a daily basis and a menu designed for the younger appetite and taste.

This elephant cost about $2500.00 and I have been looking one for Shiv since his childhood. He is still crazy to get one. I could keep it on my Farms in Badbar. But it is very difficult to get its caretaker in Punjab.

We went to Betam Gurdwara Sahib on Mandovi river and can have a grand view of Panjim across the river.  The foundation stone of this Gurdwara was laid down by President Zail Singh. There are about 300 Sikh families living in this city and have a grand building at the prime place on the bank of a river.

I revisited this Margaon beach after more than 25 years when My father Vasdev Singh also accompanied us.

FLASH BACK 1986

With my Dad in Vasco de Gama port, named after the first European Portuguese explorer  who reached India by Sea linking for the first time Europe and Asia by Ocean route. This was a significant Discovery and opened the way for an age of Global Imperialism for the Portuguese to establish a long-lasting colonial empire in Asia.

Ships seen here are meant to transport Manganese ores which are mined in interior regions. The ores are brought by barges navigating the rivers Mandovi and Zuari. The Ores thus collected on this port are handled by the state-of-the-art machinery for further transporting.

My Dad relaxing near the Margaon Beach in 1986 in the early morning in his night pyjamas. While we the younger ones will go and enjoy swim in the near by ocean famous for warm and clear waters with white sands. His grandson Shiv will in between go and keep a watch on him and report that he was enjoying the cool breeze of the ocean.

Harvinder seems shy of waters of Arabian Sea in 1986.

The life has moved on in 2011.

In a jovial mood!

Our stay in Royal resorts was really satisfying. We never felt homesick, thanks to internet connectivity availability in the road side friendly shops near by. We also purchased raw cashew nuts for family before returning to the Airport.
