The Barani is on Harigarh side along the Barsati Nala and Nehri is on Bhure Road on this side of Toll Plaza Badbar
Early morning on 1st Mar, 2025, we set out to visit the local authorities at the Tehsil office in Dhanoula. I had two main objectives: first, to transfer the ownership of about 40-plus acres of Barani land to Shivpreet. We met the document writer Gagandeep (Titu), who promptly prepared all the required documents.
The Land transfer documents being drafted by Khushi Document Writer.
Fortunately, the Numbardar (village head) was present, and he acted as a witness, ensuring the papers were signed on the spot. With that, we submitted the documents to the Tehsil headquarters to initiate the formal land transfer.
The Satellite mapping Device
The second and more challenging task was marking the boundaries of my lands. We had two options—either do it manually or use satellite mapping. I chose the satellite method, as it was precise and would minimize disputes. I was introduced to a specialist who offered reasonable charges, to be paid only upon completion of the work. He assured me that the demarcation of Nehri and Barani would be completed within a day.
The CM Mann issues orders to return for duties.
However, an unexpected roadblock emerged—a sudden flash strike by Sildars across Punjab. The government had mass transferred about 70 Tehsildars, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among them. Without a Tehsildar in place, no official orders could be issued for the demarcation, as neither the Patwari nor the Kanugo could proceed without orders of Tehsildar. We had no choice but to wait for two more days until a new Tehsildar was appointed and took over the charge.
On the day of marking of measurements I received a call from Titu that the land transfer papers were already approved and signed by Tehsildar and requested me to collect the same. So in the midst of pegging poles, I took some time off and took the driver to Tehsil at Dhanoula and picked up the registered documents.
The above three Fards are the last time showing Preet Mohan Singh and Harvinder Kaur as owners in Revenue Records.
Now the Tehsil officials will record them properly in their books and post them Punjab State Government website. So in a matter of 30 days, we and all interested would be able to get access to new changes and download the ‘Fard’ - the copy of Jamabandi’ for the records.
