Development of Maru Land- Phase-II

                      SWARAJ 855
We have purchased a Brand New Swaraj Tractor for Rs 6.25 lacs on June 25 for leveling a a small hill of mud rising about 12 ft.

Our New Badbar Car!  We intend to grade the biggest 'Tibba' in our Maru land now and intend to reclaim about 1-1/2 acre of land which has never ever been utilized for cultivation. We have never earned a single penny from the day the land was alotted to Dad in 1949-50.

It has started raining during the last week of June and is seen as good omen. We have scheduled to raise this hill top to ground in about 18 -24 months. The intention is to go slow and fill up the low level ground by transferring the excess mud of the this hill so that the existing land continues to produce crop and hence income. In fact the 14 Acre parcel will be spread with mud from this hill to make one level.

This way water clogging during monsoon will be illuminated. We intend to raise the border area of the rain water drain passing by our land.

Presently the land is in three levels. The highest is the hill and next comes the Second level with about Seven Acres which we developed and reclaimed in 1989. The last and Third level of Five Acre is the remaining holding which spreads to the corner of rain water drain. During the earlier phase of development, we could not grade the whole land in one level.
The level difference between 2nd level and 3rd level is 3-4 ft. This results in soil erosion from one level to the other particularly the mud slips from second level to the third. To offset this we have left a strip of 20 ft wide uncultivated and using it for sundry things. Now with this development we should be able to claim every inch of land meaning reclaiming of remaining about 15% of land in Maru area.

By 2018 April this hill top which has never been cultivated, should be hopefully ready to produce a crop.

This is the Video sent to me by Mr Pwan Kumar showing how the earth is being moved from my nephew field who is also getting rid of a small hill top.

Having accomplished the bulldozing the hill, we have spread it out to make it one level. We now still need extra dirt to fill up my low lying areas near the path on Barsati Nala. A loaner tractor with help of bulldozer is getting filled up with dirt in the trolley from my nephew Raman Singh 's fields.
