Aug 15, 1919 - Aug 27,1997
My father Late Sardar Vasdev Singh was born on August 15, 1919, in Multan. He was the 8th descendant of Bhai Nand Lal Ji Goya, a famous poet in Guru Gobind Singh's court. Bhai Nand Lal ji had ancestral ties to Sikh history, which our family is proud of.
He owned agricultural lands in Multan and Muzzafargarh with his younger brother, late Sardar Inderjit Singh. They also had houses in Multan and Loyalpur, which brought in good rent. For instance, the Loyalpur property alone fetched them 750 Rupees per month.
Sardar Vasdev Singh also worked as an acting Superintendent of District and Session Courts in Karnal. This showed his commitment to justice. But his farms in Badbar, District Sangrur, were far away, making it hard to balance his job and farms.
In 1971, he made a significant choice. He opted for early retirement to focus on his farms. This demonstrated his strong attachment to his family's land and a willingness to prioritize it over his court career. He betrothed his agricultural farms and his share of house in Jangpura Ext to me.
I have collected his prized left over personnel possessions of his day-to-day use and have documented as Memorabilia and produced below:
