When Shiv teaches Gurbani to Geet & Heer

Gurbani singing and teaching your own kids is a beautiful way to pass down spiritual teachings and cultural heritage.  It fosters a strong connection to one's faith, promotes values of compassion and humility, and helps create a sense of community and identity within the family.

This practice can deepen family bonds, provide a sense of purpose, and contribute to the holistic development of children.

It's heartwarming to see Shiv taking the time to teach the fundamental aspects of music to his younger daughter Geet and his favorite cousin Jasleen's daughter Heer.

Jasleen's dedication to teaching Gurbani to her children, especially with her older kids already excelling, demonstrates a strong commitment to passing down cultural and spiritual values. Her effort to cover a distance of 100 miles to ensure her child receives this important education reflects the significance she places on preserving and sharing their heritage.

Our family’s excitement is understandable, as witnessing the successful training of the little kids using the ancient 'Guru Shishya' method of music instruction must be truly gratifying. This traditional approach, which has been followed for thousands of years, fosters a deep connection between teacher and student, ensuring the transfer of intricate musical styles and values with authenticity and effectiveness. It's heartening to see this heritage being preserved and carried forward so successfully in the context of music training.
