Gobind and Grandpa in Sherwood backyard
It's great to hear that our grandson, Gobind, found the recent article in the New York Times titled "A.I Is Coming For Mathematics Too" interesting. It seems he appreciated the inclusion of renowned mathematicians and their contributions to the field. It's valid to note that concerns about AI in mathematics often arise from computer scientists rather than mathematicians themselves. The perspectives of those who intimately understand the intricacies of mathematics are crucial in discussions about the impact of AI on the field. It's fascinating to see the intersection of AI and mathematics and the possibilities it presents.
Excellent comments by my Grandson Gobind on the recent article in New York Times:

Comments:
This article had some very big names in it
I’ve heard of a lot of these mathematicians, watched their lectures
Emily Riehl wrote the leading textbook in her field of math
And Terrance Tao is the greatest mathematician of our generation
It shows greatly that a lot of the concern here comes from computer scientists and not the people who actually know what the math entails
Quite interesting
