At Principal Gambhir house in Sec 22 Chandigarh
It was March 10th, a Sunday and a holiday for us in college, which made it the perfect day to celebrate Holi, the vibrant festival of colors. We began our celebrations in the hostel, throwing colors, dancing, and enjoying the festive spirit with our fellow hostel mates. As we laughed and played, an idea struck us—to take our joy beyond the hostel walls and share it with our friends who were day scholars, living with their families in Chandigarh. We wanted everyone to join in, making the most of this festive holiday.
Our journey led us first to the home of our Electrical Engineering professor, Mr. Mori Lal Singla. His presence had always been one of warmth and guidance, and meeting him outside the classroom, in the midst of Holi celebrations, was a unique experience. With playful spirit, we greeted him, colored his face, and shared laughs. It was rare to see him so lighthearted, joining in the festival with the same joy that we did.
Feeling even more encouraged, we continued our walk from Sector 26 to Sector 22 to meet our Principal, Mr. R.L. Gambhir. The walk itself was filled with excitement as we anticipated how he would respond. To our delight, Mr. Gambhir met us with a big smile, embracing the spirit of Holi wholeheartedly. As we applied colors to his face, our Principal laughed along, surprising us all with his warmth and openness. This exchange wasn’t just fun; it also strengthened the bond we shared with our teachers, seeing them not just as mentors but as friends and family.
Among our group, Ram Lubhaya Talwar happened to bring along a camera, capturing these priceless moments on film. Those snapshots, now rare memories, beautifully preserve our day—the vibrant colors, the spontaneous laughter, and the spirit of camaraderie we felt. Talwar’s camera ensured we could relive this day for years, and we made copies to share with all our friends, keeping a piece of that memory alive for each of us.
For us that day, Holi wasn’t just a celebration of color; it was a day of unity, gratitude, and joy. Through Holi, we created memories that linked us not only to each other but to our teachers and the warmth of community.
With our fav Professor of Electrical Engineering Prof Moti Ram Singla.
