550th Birthday celebrations of Guru Nanak in Sherwood

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, was born in 1469 in Talwandi, present-day Nankana Sahib, Pakistan. His teachings emphasize the oneness of God, equality, and compassion for all humanity. Guru Nanak's spiritual journey, spanning over 20 years, took him to various regions, spreading a message of love, tolerance, and devotion.

The Guru's hymns, captured in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, advocate for unity among diverse communities and reject social inequalities.

The celebration, on Nov 13, 2019, of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj's 550th birthday involved Shilpy decorating the Palki Sahib with lights. Shilpy's skills as a handy technician shined as she adeptly took on the task of decoration. Her attention to detail and creativity came to the fore, making the celebration even more vibrant and visually appealing.

The joyous occasion also marked the completion of Sehaj Path, a spiritual journey. Gratitude was expressed to Baba Ji for making the celebration possible, and congratulations were extended to all participants in this meaningful event.
