Baby Hawk in our Back yard 2020

In an area teeming with Black Hawks, occasionally graced by the majestic presence of large hawks in varied hues, the Golden Hawk stands out as a personal favorite.

Amidst this avian diversity, fortune smiled upon me when I chanced upon a baby hawk in our backyard.

Its demeanor suggested both desperation and separation from its familial unit, transforming the encounter into a photographic delight that will undoubtedly be etched in my memory.

Hawks indeed play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance by controlling snake and rodent populations.
The area is famous for protected Black Hawks, I daringly snapped one such Black Hawk on a neighbors fence who is ever agile and looking for a prey

A golden hawk snapped by me sitting on the fence of nearby Live Oak Elementary School.

It's worth noting that in California, all birds of prey, are protected under state law due to their importance in maintaining the natural ecosystem.
